Captains Anne and Alister Irwin began their appointment at Christchurch City Corps on 8 January 2009.

Previously they have served at the Pukekohe, Levin and Dunedin City Corps. Anne and Alister enjoy Corps leadership and the opportunities that The Salvation Army has in servicing its community. During this time, for 5 years they were the Executive Officers for The Salvation Army National Youth Band and the National Development Youth Band, an appointment that kept them young and provided a great opportunity to serve with enthusiastic young people.

They believe very strongly in God’s call on their lives and enjoy being Salvation Army Officers.

Anne’s favourite verse from the Bible is;
Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here I am. Send me!”

Alister’s favourite verse from the Bible is;
Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.
